I eat breakfast here almost every day, also some lunches and dinners. Features Southern home cooking. Staff is excellent and very helpful in suggesting exactly the kind of food you're craving. This morning I had fried pork cutlets, oatmeal/raisins/brown sugar, fresh fruit, 2 eggs, hot tea w/lemon, all for $14. This is average price for a meal. Servers are quick, efficient, and thorough. Friendly. Treat you like a part of the family. Never had a bad meal here.

Having grown up eating at this establishment I can say with 100% confidence no one in the area can top the service and food here. Between the warm and smiling faces and the delicious food it’s no wonder this place has been the favorite spot of so many people. And not to mention, the owners are some of the best people you could meet. They’re constant need to satisfy every customer and their willingness to ensure everyone has a good experience whether it’s their first time eating there or thousandth time shows through and through. It’s hard to find places like this anymore and I’m glad to know that they keep the tradition alive in mom and pop restaurants!

How sad. This used to be good although not the healthiest choices. The last several times we've been there, we've had to send food back for being cold. We went recently where a young girl identified herself as the manager on duty and was extremely rude. The wait staff changes every time we're there. We recently went for a late lunch after a funeral. I asked for a slice of tomato and the owner (who I've known for years) came out of the kitchen screaming loudly that I was stealing from her by asking for a tomato slice. Never again. She could have been dealing with holiday stress or been over tired, however, that's not how you treat a customer. One less family you need to worry about serving... ever!

We have eaten at Family Tradition in the past. While the food is nothing special, it has usually been edible. Recently, my husband picked up breakfast. Upon returning home, a short ride back from the restaurant, he and I opened the container to discover the most unappetizing pile of lard with something resembling bits of sausage on top. This nauseating mess was simply not fit for human, nor canine consumption. I asked my husband to return and request a refund. His request, which was made of Erica Dixon, was met with great rudeness and a lack of professionalism. After his attempt, I went to the restaurant and requested that Ms. Dixon refund the price of the meal (Absolutely none of the meal had been eaten) My request was met with anger, stubbornness, and an attitude which indicated that Erica Dixon does not value her customers in the least. She looked at us and shouted “Do you want a dollar back?” “You’re not getting a refund”. “You can go now”. Since Erica refused to provide us with an $11.00 refund, she has lost out on hundreds of dollars our future business would have provided. We have always loved the staff and express our sympathies. We will never ever patron this restaurant again.

I have eaten here a number of times and have always felt it was adequate till this evening. We ordered our dinners and proceeded to have them delivered in a fairly timely manner but the entrees were served first and the runner/helper asked if we had had our salads yet...uh no. The salads came out fairly quickly and we had to ask for a couple of things that we had asked for on the order that were forgotten my wife had ordered a full liver dinner sted half and only half came out, again fairly quickly the other half came out along with a couple of other misses. We then proceeded to eat our dinners after about 10 minutes (or two thirds of the way thru her 1st half of the livers she realized she had bitten into a spoiled one...ok, 2nd half or the rest of her order comes out and she tried the first one and I could tell by my wifes face something was wrong...again, another spoiled liver. The waitress apologized and we said she did not want to try again and the waitress comes back and misspoke "we took the 2nd half of the full order off" . I looked at the bill I realized all of the issues we had and said no taking less than half off was not acceptable and I would like to speak to a manager. After a rather long wait another young lady comes out and explains that they were sorry and they did take off almost half as she did eat over half of her potatoes and salad (sides). I told her no that it should be appropriate to take my wifes meal off and we pay for everything but her meal. After another wait the owner came out and said we are taking another 10 percent off and that's it. I was rather incensed and told her I thought that was unreasonable...she smiled and said well I'm sorry you feel that way and pointed to the register with a very insincere have a nice day, just after I told her we wouldn't be back. I went to the register really angry at this time and the young person at the register asked how everything was to which I replied "awful" and I told him the owner acted like a pos I won't tell you how gratifying his response was. Now, I have never gotten that angry before but the sneering insincere attitude by the owner was more than I could take and by this time she was back at the register now and was trying the smiley, have a nice day garbage again and I told her to knock of the smarminess and I'm leaving and will be doing what I haven't done in years of reviews and reviewing I am writing a negative review and a one star to which the reply in all the insincerity she could muster "have a nice day". When I used to air my reviews on my show I used to always preface the review with..."any company or restaurant is good when there are no issues...the real test of an establishment is in how they handle the inevitable negative issues that come up". Well, the OWNER failed miserably over how much you may ask...$11 dollars, yep the price of her MEAL ONLY, not drinks just the meal...not the service and the issues of trying to pass an 1/2 order off as a full (which could have been a slip up). It's apparent that this mom and pop needs the money more than I do. I have eaten at restaurants large and small hundreds it not thousands of times and had a cooking show that for the first 4 years we reviewed reviewed a couple of hundred wit not one negative review. After 20y+ ears of talking about eating establishments and giving ownership the benefit of the doubt whenever possible...this "OWNER" finally proved that with all that experience...I hadn't seen it all. Thank you!

I have never left a bad review anywhere, but this experience was horrible. I was looking forward to a hot breakfast with my husband, especially the hash brown casserole. We sat in a booth near the kitchen and what I saw back there was absolutely disgusting. No gloves, extreme cross-contamination, and a waitress eating off of a customers plate and still chewing the food as she brought it to the table. The food came out and I was too turned off to eat it, but then noticed some sticky orange goo on the lid of the salt shaker and it was game over for me. I brought it to the waitresses attention and told her we would be leaving, to which she replied the goo is “just because of humidity.” Super gross. Super disappointing. Super dirty. I feel bad for the people who are consuming this food with no clue what’s going on in the filthy kitchen. Yuck!

My wife and I are camping up at Lake Allatoona and we decided to run out and have a large lunch. We couldn't decide on what type of food so I Google mapped restaurants in the area and saw this one with good ratings. Got here about 3 in the afternoon on a Friday (today August 24, 2018). Place wasn't too busy, some locals who appeared to be elder and known customers were there. Place has a good old downtime southern cafe/grill charm to it. Menu has plenty of options (think Po Folks or Cracker Barrel but with much lower prices and bigger portions). Careful what you order, you're going to get a big plate. We were asked to set ourselves anywhere we wanted ( big plus for me, I don't like to be made to sit wherever the server wants). This place is set up with booths and tables, plenty of room. Our server came to introduce herself, name of Jordan, very pretty young lady with a great attitude and very attentive to our needs. We ordered an appetizer of fried green tomatoes, these things were delicious and the portion was massive (I tasted everything we ordered). We couldn't finish all of them there. Jordan made a suggestion to me of the southern fried steak. I ordered that with potato salad and green beans with 2 rolls and half and half tea. Everything was great. Steak was tasty, ( I had the dark gravy on it, not necessary but good!), the potato salad was good ( I like my potato salad with plenty of mustard, which it almost had enough mustard but was a little creamy), and the green beans were nicely flavored. The 2 rolls were excellent. Im a huge bread with dinner guy so this was important. Wife had the grilled buffalo chicken sandwich with veggie soup. She loved both. She said the buffalo could have been hotter but she likes to swallow fire so im sure it was hot enough for most non fire eaters! I'm not sure how some of these reviewers are giving this place low stars, but as a high reviewer (my reviews and photos have over 20 million views) I have usually found these people are not informed enough about what type of place they are visiting and therefore expectations are skewed...OR they have a personal vendetta against the place or owner or staff. I knew what type of restaurant this was by the description ...and the reviews. As for the people saying the good was "bland", it just wasn't over spiced. This place has a large variety of customers and you can't over spice country cooking at a restaurant like this due to the customer base. My 5 star reviews are always based on meeting 5 criteria 1. Service 2. Atmosphere and cleanliness 3. Prices 4. Quality 5. Quantity This restaurant met all of my expectations for a down home country meal at extremely reasonable prices. Great job Jordan, ...and thanks to all the friendly staff! Highly recommend.
